Starting Nov. 9, Haitian professionals from across the United States. and beyond will convene to explore how their expertise and influence can help shape Haiti’s future. This year marks the 10th annual conference of the National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), a milestone the organization is celebrating with a focused agenda on diaspora-driven leadership and professional empowerment.

Titled “Unleash Our Power! Creating a New Paradigm for Professional Excellence in the Haitian Diaspora and Mobilizing for Dignified Leadership Strategies in Haiti,” the conference is set for November 7-9, 2024, at Atlanta’s Courtland Grand Hotel.

This year’s discussions will address the multifaceted roles Haitian professionals play in contributing to the economic and social progress of the U.S. and in forging sustainable, dignified paths for development in Haiti.

A series of panels, workshops, and networking events will feature leaders from the diaspora, with participants spanning fields from business and technology to education and healthcare.

Panels on decision-making and leadership within the Haitian diaspora will include high-profile speakers such as Dominique Dupuy, Haiti’s Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, and Guerline M. Jozef, founder of the Haitian Bridge Alliance.

Other speakers, like U.S. Ambassador to Haiti Dennis B. Hankins and Philippe Bayard, President of Sunrise Airways, are expected to share insights from their experiences in diplomacy, business, and humanitarian work.

Among the highlights are two conference tracks: Professional Development, which will offer tools and strategies for Haitian professionals to build stronger networks and advance their careers, and Haiti & Haitian Diaspora Engagement, focusing on actionable steps diaspora members can take to support impactful initiatives in Haiti.

“Positive change in Haiti must include diaspora participation and effective engagement. This conference offers a vital platform for action-driven collaboration and meaningful impact,” said Marie Myka Texas, one of the conference organizers.

The NAAHP conference, now in its tenth year, has become a nexus for Haitian professionals and their allies, growing steadily in influence and reach since its founding in 2011.
