The Haitian Roundtable (HRT) announced its 2025 class of the 1804 List, naming 17 Haitian Americans as this year’s Changemakers and Ones to Watch, with a roster stretching across the country and across fields, from health care to Hollywood.
Each year, the 1804 List recognizes Haitian Americans who are shaping culture, policy, innovation, and community. Named after the year Haiti became the first free Black republic, the list has become a cultural marker, celebrating the contributions of Haitian Americans who embody excellence, resilience, and purpose.
This year’s inductees include Sandra Lajoie, vice president of entertainment at NBCUniversal; Errol Pierre, senior vice president of state programs at Healthfirst; and Pascal Sablan, chief executive officer of Adjaye Associates New York studio. This year’s Ones to Watch include designer and Project Runway All Stars finalist Prajje Oscar Jean-Baptiste; Emmy-nominated director Tadia Toussaint; and founder of STEM from Dance Yamilée Toussaint.
Past inductees include Claudine Gay, former president of Harvard University and Kwame Raoul, Illinois’ attorney general.
Founded in 2008, HRT was developed to “heighten awareness of Haitians as an important constituency” and redefine the “narrative about Haiti and Haitians,” according to their mission.
The 2025 honorees will be celebrated at a June ceremony hosted by HRT.
