Federation of Haitian Chambers of Commerce expands network across six countries in its first year

A year after its founding, the Federation of Haitian Chambers of Commerce (FHCC) has brought together 14 Haitian chambers of commerce across six countries, an effort aimed at connecting Haitian entrepreneurs who have often worked through separate local networks.

Launched in July 2025, under the leadership of the presidents of the chambers of commerce in Georgia, Orlando, Tampa, Southwest Florida, and South Florida, the federation came together to share resources, coordinate programs, and strengthen economic ties among businesses in Haiti and the diaspora. 

“One year ago, our founders came together with a vision to build something greater than any one chamber or organization,” said Dr. Ronald Cetoute, chairman of FHCC. 

“We believed that by working together, we could amplify our collective economic voice, create greater opportunities for our members, and build stronger connections between Haiti and the global Haitian diaspora.”

During its first year, the federation, which represents more than 3,000 businesses globally, held monthly virtual meetings and organized a trade mission to Atlanta. Members also attended the Atlanta Black Chambers’ Go Global Conference, an event focused on international commerce and business development.

FHCC also introduced its Chamber Start Initiative, which is intended to help Haitian business leaders form or strengthen local chambers of commerce.

The group has announced partnerships with Haiti Business Accelerator, Clark Atlanta University’s School of Business. In June and July, FHCC partnered with The Haitian Times and  Dave & Buster’s on World Cup watch parties.

“The more we’re able to work together with a unified voice, the more opportunities we’ll see from major organizations, elected officials and governments – both in our respective cities and states, but also from around the world,” said Jean Perpillant, president, Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce in Orlando during FHCC’s launch event last year.

In its second year, FHCC plans to develop common standards and operating systems for its member chambers. Leaders say those standards could help improve coordination and accountability across the network.

“Year one was about coming together and building the foundation,” said Cetoute. “The next chapter is about strengthening our institutions, expanding our impact, and creating systems that allow Haitian chambers and businesses around the world to thrive.”
