Dominican authorities say the Haitian businessman has been under an entry ban since October 2025.

The Dominican Republic government has confirmed that Haitian businessman Dimitri Edouard Vorbe will not be allowed to enter Dominican territory.

In a statement shared on social media, the Dominican Ministry of Interior and Police said that Dimitri Edouard Vorbe has been subject to an entry ban in force since October 13, 2025.

According to Dominican authorities, the restriction was issued by the National Intelligence Directorate and enforced by the General Directorate of Migration.

“The Haitian citizen Dimitri Edouard Vorbe will not enter Dominican territory,” the statement said.

The clarification comes after reports suggested that the businessman could be part of a group of foreign nationals expected to transit through the Dominican Republic under the regional agreement known as the “Shield of the Americas,” recently mentioned by Dominican and U.S. authorities.

Dominican officials, however, stated that the agreement does not include the entry of Haitian nationals or unaccompanied minors into the country.

Authorities also noted that Dimitri Edouard Vorbe has previously been publicly linked to cases involving armed violence in Haiti, allegations he has denied in the past.

In January 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of the businessman over issues related to his immigration status in the United States.
