As federal immigration policy reshapes New York’s workforce, what does it mean for the hospitality industry—and the immigrant workers who help sustain it?

In this fireside chat, Vijay Dandapani, president and CEO of the Hotel Association of New York City, joins Macollvie J. Neel, Special Projects Editor of The Haitian Times, to discuss the economic and human impact of changing immigration policies, including the end of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians.

The conversation was recorded July 30, 2026, during “Leading Labor in a Changing Immigration Landscape,” a leadership breakfast hosted by The Haitian Times in partnership with the Federation of Haitian Chambers of Commerce and the Haitian Studies Institute at Brooklyn College.

The event was presented with support from the Hotel Association of New York City.
