NEW YORK — Carrying signs demanding an end to the war in Iran, reducing ICE agents in cities and releasing all the Epstein files, thousands marched in the No Kings NYC protest Saturday. Flanked by New York City legislators and celebrities as they marched from Central Park South to 34th Street in Manhattan, many also carried signs displaying monarch butterflies, a word play on their view of President Donald Trump’s “monarchy” style of leadership.
Saturday’s rally marked the third national No Kings event held opposing the second Trump administration’s policies. More than 3,000 demonstrations were planned across all 50 states, spanning the coastal cities of New York and Los Angeles as well as the outlying islands like Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
A map on the No Kings website shows global participation including in the Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, Latin America, Western Europe and Kenya. The first No Kings events were organized in June and October last year. No Kings held a flagship rally in St. Paul, Minn., near Minneapolis, where Renee Good and Alex Pretti were shot separately from encounters with immigration officials and border protection agents in January.
Here are some images from the march in New York, which included some Haitians from across the boroughs.

Among the sea of signs were “Hands off Tish” placards, a reference to the attempted prosecutions of James by the Trump administration. Federal housing finance director Bill Pulte called on the Department of Justice to investigate James on Wednesday, according to an NBC News report.

Jessie Walker, a scenic artist from Manhattan, fabricated a three-dimensional figure of Donald Trump as a naked infant wearing a long red tie, a court jester Maga hat, and clutching money in one hand and a baby rattle with a globe in the other atop her signpost. “This is the third time I’ve brought this out,” she said, referring to the sign she was holding, “and it’s only become more relevant.”
