Carel Pedre,  Haitian media personality, arrested in Broward County on domestic violence charge

NEW YORK — Haitian media personality Carel Pedre was arrested by the Tamarac Police Department on Dec. 21, on a domestic violence charge, court records show. He is being held at the Main Jail in Broward County with a charge of “touch or strike/battery/domestic violence” and remains pending trial with no bond set.

According to public records, Pedre’s arrest number is 112500721, and the charge is listed under Florida statute 784.03-1a1(HG), which covers domestic battery. His expected release date and final disposition remain pending as the legal process continues.

Pedre, age 45, was booked into custody in Tamarac, where police took him into custody based on the domestic violence allegation. Details of the incident leading to the arrest have not been released by law enforcement pending investigation.

Pedre is one of the most recognized media figures, with a career spanning over 25 years in radio, television, and digital media. Born and raised in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, Pedre rose to prominence as a host on Haiti’s top radio programs and television shows, including Radio One’s Chokarella and Digicel Stars, a major talent showcase. Pedre’s work spans podcasting and media production, and he has been influential in shaping Haitian entertainment and cultural coverage both in Haiti and throughout the diaspora. 

The charge against Pedre is currently pending trial in Broward County, and no conviction has been recorded. He remains in custody with no bond set pending further court proceedings.
